Information for beginners
Our club is always looking for new starters who are interested in doing jiu jitsu, a martial art in general, people who are looking to improve fitness and weight loss or just want a hobby. If you are interested please come along and try a taster session absolutely free.
The session will give you a feel for what jiu jitsu is about. Jiu jitsu is one of the eldest martial arts in existence and covers a wide variety of techniques, including strikes, throws, holds and locks. We teach valid and effective self defense techniques that work in the modern environment for all shapes, sizes and skill levels. You will definitely learn something from our sessions that is useful and practical.
Now is the perfect time to start, beginners are welcome to anyone of the 3 sessions we hold during the week. You just need to turn up in loose clothing/gym gear. Sessions are taught in a friendly environment, with training primarily done in pairs or groups, to encourage trust and friendship between members and to help better your techniques. Whatever your goals and objectives for looking to train in jiu jitsu, we can accommodate them and make sure you get the best out of the Style we have to offer and, more importantly, get the best out of yourself.
